George Williamson
George was born in Cincinnati Ohio to a loving family of believers, the youngest of three boys. When George was five his family moved to Utah, then at 7 moved back to Ohio for one year. After that at 8 the family moved to the Colorado Springs area and lived there till he graduated from high school. In the summer after his sixth grade year George gave his life to Christ at a youth conference. During his freshman year of high school he started to make pottery and fell in love with the art. He was also called to full time ministry at a prayer meeting at his church. After graduating George’s family moved to Arizona and he went to Evangel University and pursued a degree in Church leadership.
During college he continued to pursue pottery and graduated with a BA in church leadership and a concentration in ceramics. George was first called to be a missionary during his junior year of college when a group of missionaries who worked in China spoke at a chapel service. Hearing God tell him that “he had been giving a gift and talent with pottery and to go and use it for the Kingdom of God.” The following year in his Great commission challenges class there was a missionary from Japan speaking to his class. In this class George heard God tellhim once again “to remember what I told you last year and this is where you will go.”
After graduation George worked for a ceramic studio in Kansas City, though after a few months he changed plans and started a residency at his church in Overland Park KS. During that year George was trained in church planting and became a member with Christar. In spring of 2023 George moved to Yamaguchi Japan, working with Christar Japan's central team.
Currently George has been in Hirao for two years doing language studies, as well as going to a pottery studio each Friday to work and practice his Japanese. After language study George will pursue opening a pottery studio to do BAM ministry in southern Japan.
