Christar Japan: Spreading the Gospel throughout Yamaguchi-ken... |

|
Bill grew up in Elmwood Park, NJ, which is thirty minutes west of New York City. His father raised in a Jewish home and his mother from a Russian background both believed early in Bill's life. Bill, the second of two boys heard the Gospel as a child but did not believe until he was twenty years old. He graduated from Northeastern Bible College and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with a Masters of Divinity in 1982. At age eight Pamela and her family began attending the Park Evangelical Free Church in New City, NY. She believed during that year. Through the clear teaching of God's Word in Sunday School and sermons, by age fourteen Pamela became burdened for the lost and felt strongly that God wanted her to be a missionary. To prepare she attended Nyack College and then got a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Emory University. After working several years she went to Trinity Evangelical Divinity School to get a Masters of Arts in Religion. The Noars came to Japan in 1984 and have served the field during the years by working with four different church plants or teams when there has been a need for a seven month to several year assistance or furlough coverage. They presently reside in Kudamatsu City and are seeking to reach the least reached in their area. Bill enjoys small group evangelistic or discipleship Bible studies and contact work. Pamela has a ministry to Chinese factory workers as well as periodic parenting classes and cooking classes. The Noars have four children; Ruth and Laurel are in college in the USA. Lydia age 16, and Jonathan age 14 are presently home schooled. As all four children were born in Japan and have spent most of their life there they feel that Japan is their home. Bill's hobbies include hiking and cross country skiing and playing basketball. Pamela has similar interests as well as reading and doing cross stitch. The family enjoys bicycle rides, camping, swimming in a local river, as well as going ice skating and skiing. Living in a city of over 50,000 Japanese almost all of whom are presently lost and will forever experience separation from God unless they hear and believe the Gospel, the Noars know that being here to share God's Word is the best use of the life they have been given. They desire to see God glorified as the lost are reached and begin to give praise to Him. Their goal is to see a fellowship of believers established with a heart to reach their family and neighbors and the foreign workers that are in the community. |
